Favourites continue quest for Women's U20 Worlds berths

 

Belgium's Britt Herbots and Charlotte Copin celebrate win over Poland that helped them clinched top place in their European qualifiers pool for the 2017 FIVB Women's Under 20 World Championship.

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 8, 2017 - Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Belgium all topped their first round pools over the weekend to advance to the second round of the European qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Women's Under 20 World Championship. Poland, Bulgaria and Croatia also followed through as the best three of the runners-up.




The qualifiers join Russia in the next round in May, to determine the two teams that will secure tickets to the 2017 FIVB Women's Under 20 World Championship in Mexico, 7-16 July.

Round 2 pools for the European qualifiers are now as follows (to be played in May with the top team of each pool advancing to the World Championship):
- Pool E: Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland.
- Pool F: Russia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Croatia.

Other teams already qualified to the World Championship include Mexico as hosts, China and Japan from Asia, Brazil from South America, and the Dominican Republic from NORCECA.
