Bulgaria

The team of Bulgaria U20 Women has relatively good performance in the last few years taking into consideration the unavoidable change of generation. The highest achievement of this team was the 4th place won on the 2009 World Championship in Mexico when they lost dramatically with 2:3 against the permanently strong team of Brazil. The team   of Bulgaria participated also in 2013 and 2015 World Championships qualified on 9th and 8th place accordingly. Most of the players of the 2009 generation are now among the most eminent Bulgarian women players.

Coach

Dimo Tonev

Dimo Tonev

The Head coach Dimo Tonev is one of the most well known in the past Bulgarian players. He was captain of the Men's National team in some FIVB WL editions. As member of the team he won bronze medal on the 1886 Men's World Championship and was awarded as the Best Middle blocker in the 1990 Men's  World Championship. He was Assistant coach and Head coach of the Bulgarian Senior Women  National team and in the last years is permanent coach of U19 and U20 Women National teams.
